Comprised of math kumu from across each division, the K+12 Math Hui uses an inquiry process based on improvement sciences to research, implement, gather evidence, and reflect on best practices in order to shift math pedagogy at Kamehameha Hawai'i.

This hui was designed to empower mathematics educators to engage students in learning that grows an appreciation for math, increases kumu and haumāna collaboration and provides opportunities for productive struggle. Thus far, the K+12 Math Hui has identified three areas of pedagogical shifts:​​
